While you are at it, you might as well tighten up all the connections (leave the big lugs above the main breaker for an electrician). Loosen a quarter turn and then retighten but not with tremendous strength. WebMost likely arcing caused by a loose connection or defective component. Risk of fire! Turn off all breakers, if sound goes away, turn breakers on one by one til sound returns to find the issue. If all breakers are off and sound is still present, problem is unsafe to attempt self repair, contact electrician immediately.
